A gentle slope and docks on either side to tie up while you park your rig. Having our own launch means you can get out on the lake quickly and easily!

Sink, spray hose, and even a ceiling fan. We compost the leftovers for you and keep the facilities clean.

This is a private campground. People cannot just roll in off the street to interrupt your stay. The gate also gives our campers a sense of security knowing that not just anyone can access the campground.

The homestead was originally settled in 1885 and, shortly after, the first cabin was built. That cabin was rented out to visitors and is still standing today. We have the original dairy barn & even the carriage house was converted into a Cabin. The resort has been continously operated this entire time!

A playground, gazebo, badmitten net and other amenities are scattered around the grounds.

We have been at this a while. We are not just an open field with pads on it. Shade trees are everywhere you look!

We are busy outfitting our new library with books, games, and dvd's. Or throw your bedding or wet swimwear into the wash while you eat lunch!

Off the Shore

With over 2,000 acres of water, and boat access to neighboring Little Pine, Farm Island Lake is a destination for anglers or those that just like to spend time out on the water. Farm Island lake is spring-fed and part of the Ripple River chain of lakes. The river enters the lake on the south west end and flows up through our bay and into Little Pine. Fishing is primarily Walleye, Large Mouth, Small Mouth, Bluegills, Pumpkin Seeds, Crappies, Northern, and Rock Bass. The lake is stocked for Walleye by both the DNR and the lake association. There is nearly 15 miles of shoreline with many bays to tuck into.

For those into tubing or other water sports, you will find vast open water on the southern half of the lake. You will also find a large sand bar off the second island that is great for swimming or hanging out.

...And if you ever want a change in scenery, we are surrounded by fantastic lakes. Bay Lake, Cedar, and Mille Lacs are just a few of the many dozens of lakes nearby (seriously, there are way too many to name them all, and all within minutes of us).

Nearby Destinations

Only ten minutes away is the City of Aitkin. Aitkin is home to the Aitkin County Fair, Riverboat Heritage Days, the Fish House Parade, and number of unique shops and many great resturaunts. Aitkin is also the county seat and sports a number of resources that other local cities do not have such as lumber yards, two hardware stores, a grocery store, two farm supply stores and much more. You can grab a cup of coffee and walk around down town or visit one of their hiking trailes.

Crosby has become a tourist destination. 18 minutes away you will find an insane number of food options and shops to visit. Crosby has become known as a mountain biking mecha, with a number of world-class biking trails. Crosby is a must-see destination

The cities of Brainerd and Baxter are a massive oasis destination in the Lakes area. They have nearly everything you can imagine. A rainy day can be spent shopping or eating out here. There is something for everyone in the Brainard area.

Many people use our campground as a staging ground for other "Up North" adventures. You are that much closer to cities like Nisswa, Bemidji, Grand Rapids, and Duluth. It is common for campers to take a week off to spend at the resort with a day excursion planned to one of these other great destinations.

Whether you are staying close by or traveling further afield, we can make some fun suggestions. There are many opportunities for Northland exploration!
